Technical Arts

The Technical Arts Ministry at Northwood is responsible for the technical support of all services. The ministry is overseen by the Service Coordinator and is comprised of several teams that work together with the goal of creating seamless and engaging worship experiences:

-The Sound Team is responsible for sound support for all services. This includes mixing the sound so that all speakers, singers, instrumentalists, recorded and other live elements sound balanced, with proper equipment and effects. They also support the music teams and pastors by insuring that equipment needed for services such as microphones are powered and ready to go before each service.  If you have a good "ear" please consider joining our Sound Team. We are always looking for new team members to train and no experience is necessary. Commitment is at least one Sunday and one Thursday night rehearsal each month.

-The Lighting Team provides another critical role in our services. Each Lighting Team member is considered an artist because they have to "feel" the elements in the service and create lighting scenes for each element which set the "mood" for the piece. They are also instrumental in creating transitions between elements which add to the seamless flow of the service. Operating the lighting console is not difficult but sensitivity is required. Come join our team! No experience is necessary and commitment is just one Sunday per month.

-The vision for our Visual Arts Team incorporates multiple teams, including camera operators, computer operators, video production and computer graphics teams. Currently, we have a team who runs the slides for the ignite service (9:30), and we are always looking for new team members for that ministry, but we are also looking for people who have a passion for the other areas listed above. If you have experience in any of these areas or if you have no experience and you would like to be trained please contact the church to get plugged in!
