Children's Choirs

"Train up a child in the way he should go”.  Proverbs 22:6
That is our goal with our children’s choirs:  to instill in the children scripture and Biblical principals through  music.

There are two children’s choirs that meet on Wednesday afternoons as part of our King’s Kids program which has a rotation of Music, Bible Study, Crafts/Games and Snack.  (see more under Children’s Ministry)

Cherub Choir (age 3-1st grade)  4:00-4:30
The Cherub Choir follows the Musikgarten curriculum ‘God’s Children Sing’ model. The children sit in a circle on the floor and use rhythm sticks, jingles, drums, scarves, hoops and movement to help them learn the songs they will sing in church.  They have lots of fun while internalizing the songs that will stay with them for a lifetime.

 Angel Choir  (2nd-5th grade)  4:30-5:15
The children are now exploring their voices more and often play rhythm games and use rhythm instruments. We use fun incentives where each child get’s their own notebook and can earn trips to the treasure chest while learning common hymns.  Come and find out about our ‘Sticky Dots’ and ‘Rehearsal-ometer’!  There are pre-selected anthems from an annual children’s choral festival that we attend in the spring sponsored by the Chorister’s Guild. They sing with a choral clinician and sing the same songs with other church choirs from around the state.  Here is a link to this festival we have attended for the past 22 years.  http://floridachoristers.org

Summer Music Camp (rising into 3rd-6th grade)
Every summer, the week before school starts back, we have a summer music camp where the children learn a Christian musical and perform it at the end of the week.  Each day also includes music games and snack.  It is astounding that the children can learn a musical when rehearsing only from 9-12 M-F.  It is limited to 20 children and has a nominal  fee.
